About Me

İlker Kalender I have a bachelor degree in physics, and a master degree in secondary science and mathematics education. From September 2004 on, I am a doctoral student at Department of Secondary Science and Mathematic Education at Middle East Technical University. My areas of interest are large-scale quantitative data analysis and computer adaptive testing procedures.

Topic of my master thesis is A Structural Equation Modeling Study: Factors Affecting Science Achievement Based on OBBS-2002 Across Grade Levels And School Types. OBBS is a large scale assessment study conducted in Turkey to determine students’ achievements in Turkish, Mathematics, Science and Social Sciences across gender and regions, to find out thinking skills that students possess.

I am working as a freelance translator and have five books translated into Turkish as well as many article translations.
